***Covid-19 CoronaVirus ANNOUNCEMENT***

I am working hard to take COVID-19 Coronavirus seriously while attending to the needs of those who I am working with. My practice is currently 100% remote video call sessions (HIPAA-compliant) as of the time of this post with plans to return to in-person office visits only when safe to do so. These video call sessions require additional informed consent which we will discuss and patients/guardians will sign and return. Please contact your health insurance provider to do your own due diligence on how your plan covers "Tele-mental health sessions 90834 and 90837 with a Place of Service code of 02, and Modifier code 95."

For our telemental health sessions, please notify Dr. Miller if you plan to be outside Washington State during the time of our session. We may be unable to conduct our session if you are located outside of Washington State. Each video session uses a unique link from the client portal "Simple Practice" which can be emailed to you with your consent.

Please check out this list of resources, including self-care tips and how to talk about Covid-19 with your family:

Thank you for your understanding in this time of adjustment as we work together to keep the most vulnerable people in our community safe.

Specializing in Child/Adolescent & Adult anxiety treatment

Families and individuals alike can be affected by:

  • Technology Overuse/"Internet Addiction"
  • Video game overuse/"Video Game Addiction"
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Phobias
  • School Refusal/Test Anxiety
  • Oppositional/Defiant Behavior
  • Learning disorders
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Moving/Changing Schools
  • Transitioning out of the Home/to College
  • Frequent Conflict
  • Work/Life Balance
  • Bullying

I believe in identifying the problem (not a problem-person), setting goals, and working together with you, your child/adolescent, or your family to achieve those goals. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to help clients avoid placing negative labels on themselves, and instead help them identify and change their actions, thoughts, and feelings in safe and constructive ways. I also employ psychodynamic techniques to help clients practice increasing their awareness in the present moment - how to recognize "triggers" and associated feelings, and how to choose a response that is authentic and healthy. Bringing all family members into therapy periodically allows a chance for your child or teenager to share new tools and practice these skills together with you.

About Me

I am a psychologist in private practice and I specialize in therapy and psychological testing with school-aged children and teens and their families. I also enjoy working with individual adults. I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fuller Seminary Graduate School of Psychology in September 2010. I also earned a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Fuller Seminary. This experience has afforded me excellent training in addressing clients’ needs and goals in consideration of each individual’s cognitive and emotional development, ethnicity, physical abilities, religion and spirituality, and sexual identity. I completed my internship at Pacific Clinics, a community mental health agency, where I conducted individual, family, and group therapy sessions, as well as diagnostic testing batteries and feedback with children, adolescents and their families. In March 2013, I completed the Behavior Therapy Training Institute course through the International OCD Foundation and continue to work with children and adults with OCD. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Washington State Psychological Association.
